One More Thing.
See that skirt.
I made it on Friday night an hour before we left.
I am kinda in love. Is it bad that I have worn it 4 times since?
(That would be 4 times in 6 days.)
I have been getting some good use out of my Apparel Design schooling this past week.
Working on a hooded, water-resistant, rain cape now. Hopefully I will be finishing it today. I did the flap welt pockets last night. I think it has been 8 years since I made a welt pocket.
I live in Oregon and do not own rain gear. I hate rain gear. Maybe this will help change my mind.
Photos upon completion.
DUNES!
The boy and I took an end of Summer trip to the dunes on the Central Oregon Coast.
I lived about an hour away from these for a year and never went. Mind boggling.
The trip included camping in Yachats.
A barefoot walk through the dunes (ouch) to get the perfect picture of my dream home.
Sliding down the abandones dunes on my bum. We were the only ones there.
Tide pools and wave rainbows.
Aquarium going.
Old-town Newport bay clam chowder and my brand new whole 13lb tuna. Yum.
We have done 5 trips in 5 consecutive weekends. I said I needed a weekend off on our way home this past Sunday. Now, I am rethinking that.
I wouldn't mind Matsutake hunting in Central Oregon this weekend.

Light Redecorating
Changes at home. I am going to be painting some rooms, rearranging and purging.
It will make me so much happier when this house is a home again.
Especially, when my home office is all set up so I can stop designing and building sites from my small kitchen table.
Looking at rugs this week. I need two. One for the living room and one for the office.
Eying this, this & this.
I think the white-wool for the living room since there is already so much going on there. Maybe something a little more graphic for my graphic design office.
Can't. Wait.

All electric re-make of my favorite german vehicle. Slated to release in 2012.
3 years to move to Berlin and get my hands on one of these kids.

Embarrassed to Say....
So.
I have had a hard time sleeping over the past few days. By hard time I mean little to no.
Like last night's sleep = none.
I went to a 24 hour pancake house with a friend at 5:45 am.
It was dismal. My sleep was definitely on the wrong side of the sunrise.
Anywho, I thought that really bad tv would bore me to slumber. I mean really, really, really bad tv.
Like what you ask? The Rachel Zoe Project.
Pitiful. And NOT WORKING.
The only thing that has come out of it is me wanting to bleach my hair like Taylor, wear black leggings with high heels, say "i die" or "ba-na-nas" and change my life path so I can call Zac Posen on a whim demanding he overnight the newest couture gown!
Gah!
So...what about the hair?

Bubble gum.
I am infusing bubblegum vodka for a friends' pretty, pretty, princess party.
Pink bubbly drinks. Angel food cake with pink frosting. (Her favorite.)
The experiment just started about 10 minutes ago and the infusion is already bright pink.
And the kitchen smells like bubblegum.
The drink will be like a French 75 but with bubblegum vodka instead of cognac.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
Daniel Barrow
Went and saw Daniel Barrow last night with TBA.
I am in awe of his use of an overhead projector.
If my high school calculus teacher explained our homework this way I might have actually paid attention.
If you are in Portland go tonight! 8:30 pm at the Whitsell.
You will not regret it.
Swoon.

Spike Jonze Ads
Jacob and I spent too much time watching Spike Jonze ads and music videos last night.
This was one of our favorites.
And short we enjoyed:

Slim Aarons
Oh, to be in a Slim Aarons photo for a day.
That would be the life.
Just one day.
Lounging on Peter Sellers' bum.
Sporting a bouffant.
Like, today maybe?
Or tomorrow?
I'm flexible.
