This clip was open in my web browser all last week. It brightens my heart to know that people like this exist.

The Glow

I'm dying.

No seriously. Fashionable ladies & their mini-me's.

This is the sweetest blog ever. I love how Lauren Moffat's daughter has marker scribbles all over her hands.

She is just keeping it real.

The Weeknd

I hate myself for liking this. Especially after reading this. Vomit.

But I can't help it. The Party & The After Party is my favorite.

I am convinced someone wrote this verse for me:

With your Louis V bag
Tatts on your arms
High-heel shoes make you six feet tall
Everybody wants you, you can have them all
But I got what you need
Girl I got your bag, I got it all
Hold your drink baby don't you fall
Be there in a minute baby just one call
You don't gotta ask me

Someone like Cortez Bryant. And for that reason I will keep listening to it.

A Love Too Big To Last

In memoriam, one of my favorite reads from last year.

A Love Too Big To Last

Love Letters.

Being pushed to emotional limits.

Demise. Reunion.

All three sides of the triangular theory of love.

xoxo Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton.

The last day of March

My darling Sleeping Child, …I am oddly shy about you. I still regard you as an … inviolate presence. You are as secret as the mysterious processes of the womb. I'm not being fancy … I have treated women, generally, very badly and used them as an exercise for my contempt except in your case. I have fought like a fool to treat you in the same way and failed. One of these days I will wake up—which I think I have done already—and realize to myself that I really do love. I find it very difficult to allow my whole life to rest on the existence of another creature. I find it equally difficult, because of my innate arrogance, to believe in the idea of love. There is no such thing, I say to myself. There is lust, of course, and usage, and jealousy, and desire and spent powers, but no such thing as the idiocy oflove.

Who invented that concept? I have wracked my shabby brains and can find no answer. But when people die … those who are taken away from us can never come back. Never, never, never, never, never (Lear about Cordelia). We are such doomed fools. Unfortunately, we know it. So I have decided that for a second or two, the precious potential of you in the next room is the only thing in the world worth living for. After your death there shall only be one other and that will be mine. Or I possibly think, vice versa.

Ravaged love,
And loving Rich

Let's Run Away

Portland, your weather is breaking my heart.

Let's run away.

By run away, I mean go to the beach house. And hibernate inside.

We can lounge around and watch a marathon of march madness games while indulging in comfort foods. I'm thinking baked mac 'n cheese. Or nachos.

Sunday morning I'll have to prepare for my big meeting later this week. And you will have to respond to emails. This is to be accomplished with mimosas from under a down comforter while listening to this mix and the waves.

5-mile run. Smoked trout hash. More basketball. More mimosas.

Time is irrelevant. Naps are a must.

We will survive this dismal week.

If that fails, let's take a 3-week vacation to Bali.

It is sunny there.

Let's

Bob Dylan & Suze Rotolo

I just finished listening to the Fresh Air interview of Suze Rotolo.

I sat in my car at destination to finish listening to the interview. I am a huge sucker for realistic love stories. The ones that include all aspects of relationships like you didn't know his real last name until he was sauced and dropped his wallet.

And, usually I hate Ms. Gross' speculations about her interviewees but the mentor-mentee part was fairly relevant. I dated an artist 10 years my senior and fell into the cycle of admiration and constant learning but there was balance. There were things that I was much better at. Qualities that he admired and constantly learned from too. Balance.

Have a listen. And then re-listen to the entire Freewheelin' Bob Dylan album.

Short-Shorts

This summer's wardrobe is brought to you by Erin Wasson and her jean shorts.

Adopting this.

Short-shorts, basic tops, great shoes and statement jewelry.

I told myself I am giving up mini skirts when I turn 30. Maybe it'll just transition to short-shorts instead.

Inès + Nine

Fashionable mother and daughter duo Inès de la Fressange and Nine.

I love familial relationships and the existence of "mini-me's."

So charming. So adorable.

Tennis

Tennis. Marathon.

Kind of an adorable husband/ wife team. They go on sailing trips together.

Getting me through deciphering a glitch in some coding.

Tedium.

If you are in Portland this weekend, they are playing at Miss. Studios on Saturday.

You should go and make me jealous.

I will be out of town sifting through a huge storage unit looking for the title for my new vehicle so I can actually start driving the thing.

It is "In a box. But it could be in a box within a box. Or just in a stack of loose papers in a box."

Wish me luck.

Spring Wish List

Scout bag.

Flirty (& modest) swimsuit for my upcoming trip to Bali.

Ummm...the most AMAZING primer ever. No, seriously.

Note to self: Never tell a makeup sales girl that you want a foundation set-up that makes you look like a million bucks. You will walk out of the store with 1 mil worth of skincare items. Also, worth it!

Honey Panna Cotta

Hosted my weekly dinner party last night and ended the meal with my favorite dessert, honey panna cotta.

Roaring success. Horrible picture.

Highly recommend making it now.

Honey Panna Cotta w/Blood Oranges

2 cups whipping cream
1 packet unflavored gelatin
1 1/3 cup of greek yogurt
1/2 cup honey
4 tablespoons moscato
pinch salt

4 Blood Oranges - Supremed (instructions below)
1/4 cup Moscato

Place 1/2 cup cream in a small sauce pan and sprinkle with the gelatin. Let stand about 20 minutes or until softened.

Stir together remaining 1 1/2 cups of cream, greek yogurt and honey in a sauce pan over medium heat until mixture comes to a gentle boil. Remove from heat.

Heat gelatin mixture over medium-low heat until gelatin dissolves completely. Whisk gelatin mixture into cream. Add Moscato and a pinch of salt.

Divide mixture among ramekins or wine glasses and refrigerate until set, 4-6 hours.

Supreme blood oranges and toss with 1/4 cup of Moscato. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

You can either turn the Panna Cottas out onto individual plates or eat from the ramekins. Top with blood oranges to serve.

Do yourself a favor and drink the remaining moscato from the orange bowl.

Devour Panna Cottas.

Thank me later.
