It has been stressville over here in Heartthrobs Central. There is the doom a gloom of a potential move to California. This would entail moving my business and starting over.
Or not and the implications of that including an in town move. (Side note, I HATE moving.)
I have been a ball of stress all week.
On the way home from my Thursday 7am networking meeting Jens Lekman came on my iPod.
I car danced.
I smiled and felt relaxed for the first time in 10 days.
Plus there is the added bonus of thinking of what a babe Jens is.

So beautiful. My hair is almost long enough to braid again.
As soon as it is I am trying this. I used to be really jealous of girls in elementary school that had intricate braids. Fishtail braids always seemed so complex but they sound super easy.
• Divide the hair you want to braid into two equal sections.
• Start a fishtail braid by holding the right section with your right hand. Then, using your left hand, pick up a one-eighth-inch chunk of hair from the outside of the left section and cross it over to the inside of the right section.
• Repeat on the other side: Hold the left section in your left hand. Use your right hand to pick up a one-eighth-inch chunk of hair from the outer right section and cross it over to the inside of the left section.
• Continue picking up small sections and crossing them over until you reach the ends of your hair.
• Secure with an elastic.
And a video tutorial:

The first bird sounded at 5:38 am this morning.
I know. I was awake and unable to fall back to sleep because I was thinking about how to pattern and make this swimsuit.
Note to self: must not think about clothes when trying to sleep.
Off to the fabric store.
This tired brain cannot hold one single thought let alone a creative one that would allow me to push through this workday.

It has been sunny and warmish around Portland over the past week.
It makes me excited for wearing ballet flats, mini skirts and bare legs. So excited.
That said, I need a new pair of black flats. With super soft leather and flexible soles.
Like these beauties.

My desk feels like this to me today.
It is a huge, cumbersome task to even get in the chair.
I am sick and have deadlines. I want to lay in bed and watch project runway all day or look at my gigantic Harper's Bazaar that just arrived, chock full of inspiring spring fashion.
On another note, I love it when visuals accurately explain how you feel.

I have had a ridiculous work week. Today I will be comforting my work day with more than 3 hours of sleep and the new electro-opera from The Knife. Here is the teaser release that I have been listening to all January.
Ok. Back to work.
